MECHANISM OF BIODEGRADATIONThe biodegradation of FAFA bio-based plastic products is separated into 2 processes.
1. PHOTODEGRADATIONMain ingredient of FAFA bio-based plastic product is crustacean shells. The product, which is well mixed with those renewable resources would break into fragmentations through UV sunshine.
2. BIODEGRADATIONAfter the fragmentation, the organic shells among plastic polymers will attract plenty of bacteria to consume, lead to biodegradation. Refer to a lab test; ISO 14855-1:2005 standard, a bio-based plastic bag that is 0.025 millimeters thick can be 80% biodegraded within 127 days, resulted in Calcium Oxide (CaO), Carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). However, the efficiency of biodegradation depends on both proportion of materials and dimension of product.
